So far it has been a busy season for the Indianapolis Impalas Division 1 and Division 3 sides. Both sides are sitting at 1-2 in their respective leagues and things are continuing to look up.
On the Division 1 side, the Impalas have had close hard fought games each week. This was to be expected as every week in Division 1, teams are going to battle to the final whistle. The Division 1 Impalas started out with a tough match versus the Eastern Conference leading Detroit Tradesmen (3-0) in Detroit. With a few players out of position due to injuries, the Impalas were still able to keep it close in a 14 to 27 loss. The following week in their home opener, Indianapolis defeated Buffalo (0-3) to claim their first Division 1 victory 15-10. They followed up their first win in Division 1 with a last second loss versus the Cincinnati Wolfhounds (2-1) in Cincinnati 29-33. Things are looking up for the Impalas though as 2 of their remaining games are at home and their team is healthy. The Division 1 squad will spend first weekend of October at home during their bye week and will play next on Oct. 10 at home v.s. the Detroit Tradesmen.
The Division 3 Impalas started out their season on a high note with a 46-14 home victory over Scioto Valley (1-2) at home. Going into the next 2 games, Indianapolis had some missing pieces in their lineup and lost 0-38 v.s. White River (2-2) (Home) and 15-25 v.s. Queen City (2-1-0) (Cincinnati). Even though the Division 3 Impalas lost their first away game of the season, major strides were made and the team is operating more as a unit everyday. They will be traveling October 3 to Cincinnati to play the Cincinnati Kelts (3-1).
